Philippines Showcases Trade Potential at China International Import Expo 2023
Promoting Philippine Products and Strengthening Bilateral Trade with China
In 2023, the Philippines sent a dynamic delegation of government officials and business enterprises to the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai. Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC), the delegation aimed to showcase Philippine products, boost exports, and deepen trade ties with China. Representing a wide range of industries, the delegation included leading food companies such as Century Pacific, Profood International, Fisher Farms, and Avante-Agri Products Philippine.
Government officials like DTI Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo and Ambassador Jaime FlorCruz also took part, underscoring the country's strong commitment to international trade collaboration.
Key activities included exhibiting premium Philippine products—like durian, coconut, and mango—at the Philippine Pavilion, engaging in business matching sessions, promoting investment opportunities, and participating in cultural events to highlight Filipino heritage and cuisine.
The CIIE 2023 participation not only boosted exposure for Filipino goods in the Chinese market but also reinforced the Philippines’ position as a competitive and reliable trading partner, setting the stage for expanded partnerships and economic cooperation in the future.
